Faculty In Training

The Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø (Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø) is passionately committed to championing diversity and ensuring equal employment opportunities. Recognizing the need for enhanced inclusivity in faculty demographics, our program strives to closely mirror the diversity of our district communities.

Over the past years, while we have seen steady growth in faculty representation from various ethnic groups, there remains an identified need. Our District, with a workforce comprising over 1,600 full-time and part-time faculty, seeks to intensify efforts in bridging these gaps, enhancing human resource recruitment and outreach strategies.

Our initiative primarily focuses on nurturing and leveraging the potential of interns. Historically, while the district has employed faculty interns, there hasn't been a targeted approach to their recruitment or professional growth.

With the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø's expanded vision:

  • The program will foster an environment that encourages intern faculty to transition to full and part-time positions within our district.
  • Intensive training sessions, including a minimum of 4 half-day workshops, will be facilitated, emphasizing cultural competency and innovative pedagogical techniques.
  • We will strengthen ties with minority-representing higher educational institutions and broaden our Human Resources and faculty networks to increase outreach and awareness.
  • Existing faculty will play an instrumental role in guiding the intern faculty, ensuring a seamless transition and integration into the community.

Our program is an embodiment of best practices from various community college models and stands as a testament to the district's commitment to building a diverse and inclusive faculty team. With the unwavering support from multiple administrative offices and the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø Chancellor's vision, we are paving the way for advanced Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) initiatives over the coming years. The program's expansion aims to create a legacy of inclusivity, diversity, and excellence in education to ensure that Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø provides the conditions for our diverse students to succeed.

At Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø (Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø), we pride ourselves on our unwavering commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive faculty team. Our initiative is a testament to our dedication to reflecting the rich tapestry of our district communities, ensuring that the perspective of every ethnicity and background is equitably represented for it is through the inclusion of diverse views and ideas that progress is best promoted. We believe that our strength lies in our diversity, and our goal is to ensure that every student is welcomed by and can relate to the educators who guide them.
