Faculty Equivalency Policies & Procedures
If applicants for faculty positions do not meet the current Minimum Qualifications for Faculty and Administrators in California Community Colleges, they may apply for an equivalency. Equivalency requires that applicants demonstrate they have a combination of education and experience that would be equivalent to the stated minimum qualifications, allowing them to teach any class within the discipline.
NOTE: Each college has its own set of policies and procedures. Applicants who wish to work at multiple sites may need to go through each college's equivalency process. Please do not complete and/or submit the required paperwork until instructed by the Human Resources Department or Hiring Manager.
